Leonardo Da Vinci - BBC Documentary

Leonardo, the illegitimate son of a notary and a peasant, born in the small town of Vinci (Italy) in the middle of the fifteenth century (1452), is the man of the Renaissance par excellence. Polifacetico, imaginative, non-conformist, ahead of his time, this documentary recounts his life and inventions in the court of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan. Part of his very few paintings, such as the angel of the Baptism of Christ (painted in the workshop of his teacher Andrea del Verrocchio), the Lady of the Armino or the Last Supper of Santa Maria delle Grazie are shown in the reconstruction of the scenes of his Milanese life. Also, two of his visionary ideas, such as the battle car and the parachute, will be put to the test by the BBC's willing engineers.
